Oren uses his understanding of brands to craft captivating strategic narratives.

“Completely original, exquisitely colored and boldly scaled, his designs show an understanding of contemporary Hospitality Design problems in public spaces. Oren’s solutions are at once simple and complex and the magic combination of innovation based on classicism that produces a lasting frisson of magic, tension and delight.”

Finding Creativity: A Solo Journey to a Connected Place

Oren Sherman | TEDxProvincetown

When we give up our dreams and conform to other people’s expectations, why does it seem to make everybody happy except us? In his work at Elkus Manfredi Architects, Oren Sherman crafts strategic narratives and original artworks, creating a multilevel, subliminal experience that resonates as an unspoken message. His work and life experiences have led Oren to believe that others may need to conform to a persistent idea of reality—but that doesn’t mean that you must. Oren Sherman has designed exclusive artwork for a wide variety of clients that include Stueben Glass, PepsiCo, the Disney Corporation, the Olympics, Visa, Hermès, Mobil Oil, and the U.S. Postal Service among others, developing custom artwork that is colorful, sophisticated, and contemporary.

He is an alumnus and professor at the acclaimed Rhode Island School of Design where he recently launched an innovative giving campaign kicked off by leaving his own digital IP to the institution.

His work lives at the intersection between visual storytelling, art and architecture, focusing on applying two-dimensional work in a three-dimensional way using the tools of narrative, color, and pattern to create an experiential space. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
